Venue info widget questions
What is a venue info widget?
A single embedded card holding the practical details of a venue: contact, directions, parking, amenities, accessibility notes, social links and opening hours. It renders wherever you place the embed, and every placement reads from one venue record in the dashboard.
Why not just type these details into the website?
Because they end up typed into five places: the footer, the contact page, the homepage, Google and a sister site. When the phone number or the Sunday hours change, at least one copy gets missed. The widget keeps one canonical copy and publishes it everywhere it appears.
Can it show accessibility information?
Yes, and it should. Step-free access, accessible toilets, hearing loops and similar details are held as structured fields, so guests who need them can find them stated plainly rather than phoning to ask.
Does it include opening hours?
Yes. It reads from the same venue record as the dedicated opening hours widget, including split kitchen and bar services and bank holidays. Use this widget where you want the full venue card, and the hours widget where hours alone belong.
I run more than one venue. Does this scale?
Each venue has its own record and its own widget, managed from one dashboard. A group with six sites updates a venue's details once, and every website carrying that venue's card is correct together.
